    Hello, WordPress Developers!
I’m Susant, a visually impaired WordPress developer dedicated to making WordPress accessible for all users. Recently, I’ve been trying out several user management and contact form plugins, but unfortunately, I’ve encountered accessibility issues with most of them when using a screen reader.
The main problem I face is that the visual editor in these plugins is not accessible and cannot be used with my screen reader. Additionally, some links and buttons lack proper labels, making it difficult for me to understand their purpose.
I’m reaching out to seek your guidance and recommendations for a better form plugin that ensures accessibility on both the admin backend side and the users’ frontend side. Any suggestions or assistance you can provide will be immensely appreciated.
Thank you for your support in making WordPress more inclusive and accessible for all users!

    Hello Susant,
Welcome to the WordPress community! I suspect any plugin that relies upon a visual editor may not be suitable for screen readers. You would want to use a plugin that is more text based than graphic based. I’m pretty sure there are form creation plugins that don’t involve a visual editor. But as I scan the above linked search results, I do see a lot of “drag & drop” in descriptions, which almost surely indicates visual editors. You may want to avoid those.

You will get a large variation in how accessible a plugin is because there is a large variation in plugin developers. Some are not as tuned into accessibility issues as they should be.

In case you’re interested and don’t already know, WordPress does have an accessibility focused team who are happy to get new contributors involved. Also, reaching out to them through channels they more frequent might yield other plugin suggestions different from what you might get in this forum.
