Changing Admin email in multisite

I’m trying to change the email address for the network administrator in a multipress installation. But I get the message that

There is a pending change of the network admin email to ***@gmail.com.

Yes, I did try to change the email address previously, but the only link I got sent me to the same screen with the same message, and I cannot make an actual change.

I had a similar problem with the main site, and I changed the admin_email through phpMyAdmin on my main site in the WordPress options table. Now that email address shows up correctly. But I cannot figure out where to change the email address for the full multisite installation. I don’t want to create more problems by editing files with which I’m not familiar.

Please help!
