Your contribution is also somewhat confusing. Are you talking about editing your existing website? If so, what specifically do you want to change? And what do you use in WordPress for this? A link to your website would be helpful.
Or do you want to create a completely new website? If so, what is your goal?

I want to create a completely new website I have managed to host through InMotion, register my domain ballantraetrust.org, activate a theme 2024. but now I am very confused. I should add that I am 80 years old and confusion comes easy. I did have my own WP website 6-7 years ago until I retired. I am finding it hard to get up and running but i feel if I can get started I will pick up the changes ( block based website) quite quickly.
I am trying to create a community based website ballantraetrust.org for our village. The longer term objective is to create a similar website to ballantrae.org.uk with similar information although, as you will see this site has lacked maintenance in some areas. I am desperate for some really basic starting advice and I really would be grateful for any help you can offer. I have read a number of tutorials including the link you sent. My first need is to set up a home page with slightly edited home page. Once I grasp the principles of blocks, templates, and template parts I feel I will be on the road to success. Thank you for any help you can offer
You have probably also taken a look at what is intended for your theme: https://learn.wordpress.org/tutorial/introducing-the-twenty-twenty-four-theme/
Otherwise, I would recommend finding someone who can support you personally. I think you’ll make faster progress and probably learn more than through video tutorials. Ask someone in your area if they can do this.
Sadly, I live in Rural Scotland and I would not know how to find anyone with WP knowledge. I feel if I can only add a few pages (up to four) and add/edit a header and footer I would be in a much better trial and error learning basis. Whilst awaiting your reply I did look at Introducing 2024 and tomorrow I will try to replicate his actions however, he does not mention headers & Footers
However thank you for your help
